Dr. Stephen Burton  |  CEO & Chairman

Dr. Burton has lived in Chesterfield County for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Thomas Dale HS and the College of William and Mary. After his doctorate, he served on the medical staff at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago for six years, where both his children were born. After inventing one of the first digital healthcare diagnostic products, Dr. Burton has spent 25+ years in senior leadership roles in the healthcare, fitness and sports industries. His efforts in high performance athletic training, led to his appointment as the Chairman of US Speedskating Development, which is the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sports of Speed Skating. Dr. Burton’s awards include being the only three-time Greater Richmond Technology Council Award Winner. He has over 25 scientific peer review publications and is a repeat guest and invited speaker on CNN as well as a wide range of TV and Radio shows.


 

 

Bobby Goldwater | Chief Strategist

Goldwater is one of the most respected professionals in the Sports and Entertainment Industry having served at the two most impressive addresses in the business. After over two decades of serving at virtually every level in Madison Square Gardens, Goldwater led the initiative in Los Angeles to bring the STAPLES CENTER to life. By working closely with the NBA, NHL and a wide range of sports and entertainment organizations, Goldwater played an instumental role in the success of these two venues. More recently he was commissioned by Washington, DC to bring baseball back to the capital, which he did in 2004 with the Nationals. He now turns his attention to helping the SportsQuest vision become a reality.

 


 

C. Tony Tucker  |  President of SportsQuest Academy

While a standout in basketball at every level of his career, as a player, coach, and professional scout, Tucker has also excelled in the business side of sports during his 20+ year career. Tucker has held senior leadership roles in the IMG Basketball Academy as well as in some of the best private boarding schools in the US. The combination of these experiences have enabled Tucker to create an outstanding Residential Training Program for SportsQuest.  The Academy program is dedicated to providing a high quality academic and residential life designed to support the challenges of our student athletes.


 

 

Mark Wood  |  President of Operations & Member Services

Mr. Wood has been a strong member of the Richmond community his entire life. Mr. Wood has 30+ years of Sales and Operational Management. He was on the senior leadership team at American Family Fitness for over 15 years, where he played a central role in membership sales, membership retention programming and business development efforts that are currently used in today’s Fitness Industry.  His innovative programs will insure that SportsQuest members enjoy the best programming available.


 

 

Bill Thompson |  Chairman of SportsQuest Foundation

Mr. Thompson has dedicated his life to the support of progams that showcase athletes in pursuit of higher performance.  For 30 years he was the Director of Operations for the PGA TOUR’s Hawaiian Open.  Among many other events, he was the Director of the NFL PRO BOWL half-time show for 7 years and the College All-star Game - the Hula Bowl for seven years.  He is now the Chairman of SportsQuest Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to support youth in pusuit of excellence through sports and student athletes who aspire to advance their life through sports.


 

 

Christopher Robinson |  Director of Events & Facility Operations

Mr. Robinson is an outstanding manager of operations for the SportsQuest venues.  He has been praised by senior leadership in USA Governing Bodies for his professional management of national tournaments as well as mom’s and dad’s playin the our weekend social soccer programs.  His experience at running events and day-to-day operations insures that members who participate in SportsQuest sports programs will enjoy the highest in quality sports experience.
